Barlby Blog

Hiya!!! I’m Gloria Hunter-Tilney and this is my totally awesome super-cool blog! Due to the election, last week was only a four-day week (woo-hoo no school!) however, it was still as action-packed and fun as every other week at Barlby. Personally, my week was even better because I went to a Zara Larsson concert with my dad on Wednesday night but that isn’t school related so I probably shouldn’t be writing that.

One of this week’s many events was the super-exciting, ever-so tense Spellathon semi-final!!! The year 6 contenders were Ayah, Frankie, Daisy and Othman. I’m not sure who got through to the final* but I’m sure our Year 6 representative won’t let us down!

In Year 6 we have been doing a tonne of rehearsing for our amazing Year 6 production (btw it’s going to be OUTSTANDING) while also enjoying end of term luxuries such as kayaking, The Art Room and LOTS of production art.

However, there were also more serious events here at Barlby. Every child in the school created their own heart and all 350 were then stuck together to create a big heart representing us as a community. In case you were wondering, this was not a totally random idea; we were doing it as an act of remembrance for all the people that lost their lives in the devastatingly recent terror attacks and the fact that we will always stay together as a Barlby community.

Thanks for reading!!!
